Company Description Derby Wine Estates is a boutique, family-owned, 100% estate winery located in Paso Robles.  Our focus is showcasing the quality and terroir of our unique vineyard sites.  We have the rare ability to work with 23 varietals of Bordeaux, Burgundian, Rhone and Spanish origins from three vineyards in SLO County: two in the Paso Robles AVA, one on the San Simeon coast just south of Hearst Castle.  
Job Description

Quality-oriented cellar worker/intern needed for 2016 Harvest. Duties include, but not necessarily limited to, those associated with:
•       Cleaning/sanitizing equipment and winery
•       Receiving/processing fruit
•       Fermentation monitoring and management (pumpovers, brix/temp)
•       Additions and inoculations
•       Draining and pressing
•       Setting up and cleaning equipment
•       Prepping new and used barrels
•       Racking, topping, general cellar work, as needed

Ideal candidate must be hard-working, honest, and reliable.  Must be in good physical condition and able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and sometimes stressful environment.  A keen attention to detail coupled with the ability to follow directions are required.  A positive attitude and good sense of humor doesn’t hurt.

•       Ability to work for long hours standing, kneeling, etc. in a wide range of temperatures
•       Must be able to carry 40lbs
•       Ability to safely ascend/descend stairs or ladders carrying a load
•       Reliable transportation and valid DL
•       Eligible to work in the US
•       Prior harvest experience preferred
