Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and hardworking intern to add to our team. This internship offers the opportunity to learn about, and ensure compliance with the agricultural regulatory requirements administered by government agencies. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to work with table grapes and participate in different areas of the growing/harvest season.

Job Duties:
•       Acquire a general understanding of food safety and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system.
•       Acquire a general understanding of regulatory requirements from government agencies – more specifically, Environmental Health Services Department and Cal-OSHA.
•       Participate in the collection of farming/viticulture data for the purpose of evaluating grape and vine development.
•       Assist in regulatory inspections and audits.
•       Ensure compliance of environmental, health, and safety regulations
•       Coordinate and perform work site visits with the objective of ensuring compliance of environmental, health, and safety regulations, and encourage improvements.
•       Evaluate the implementation of quality control standards.
•       Collect and analyze data in order to create detailed and accurate reports.
•       Assist in the implementation of all safety and food safety regulations.

•       College degree (or in the process of a degree) in agriculture.
•       Able to perform full-time employment, without conflict, from mid-June through November.
•       Valid California Driver License with a clean DMV record.
•       Ability to meet and exceed quality control goals.
•       Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Office.
•       Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
•       Ability to work with little or no supervision. 
•       Good judgment and decision making skills.
•       Knowledgeable and able to present a professional image at all times.
•       Highly dependable and punctual.
•       Strong attention to detail.
•       Preferably bilingual.

Incumbent will have the opportunity to work in areas such as Paso Robles, Santa Maria, Bakersfield and Delano.
