|Job Title||2016 Harvest Intern Extaordinar|
|Location||Santa Maria, CA|
|Company Name||Lumen Wines|
|Company Description||2500 case winery focused on Pinot Noir and high quality, small batch production. We make wine the old fashion way...using lots of physical labor.|
Helping me with every facet of the harvest. ...vineyard sampling, overseeing picking, crushing, punch downs (I really need help with this, so one must have solid upper body strength), pressing, bbl prep, bbling down and fork lift driving..The last can be learned on the job.The job starts when the grapes are ready. We make PN, CH, Grenache and Grenache Blanc. The job is like life. There will be times when you work hard every day 7 days a week and times when you do what you want and just stop by for a punch down or two. We do have a very basic living area in the winery if you do not live close or need to spend the night. You need to have a drivers license, be strong, have a need to clean things, like to learn new stuff, not have a pet with you on the job, be able to follow instructions as given, having a cheery attitude is nice, be able to work 4 to 8 feet above the ground. You and I will make up the core team. My partner, Will Henry, will try to be there for us as best as he can.
|Job Type||Total Winery Person|
|Pay Scale||$500 a week|
|Start Date||Late Aug to mid Sept|
|End Date||Mid Oct to early Nov|
|Other Information||Overall...I am looking for someone that is serious about wine making, is willing to work at my side and do manual labor that will top any gym workout, day after day, for very little pay...with a smile.
I have been making wine in SBCo for over 30 years, so you know you will hear some great stories...
