Chamisal Vineyards is currently seeking to hire seasonal positions at our San Luis Obispo Estate winery. Qualified candidates for this position would display aptitude and the ability to perform cellar tasks with precision and focus. A basic knowledge of winemaking and previous cellar experience is recommended.

Our Harvest Internships rely on team efforts and camaraderie, effective communication and a willingness to learn. Enthusiastic candidates who are passionate about learning wine production and cellar operations will gain valuable experience. Candidates will need to be have a total commitment for the harvest season and an open schedule for work from mid-August until November.

There will be an opportunity to learn all aspects of winemaking and to further refine skills and understanding for quality wine production. Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

- Sanitization of tanks and equipment
- Carrying out wine movements and pump operations
- Racking from barrels
- Filtrations (DE & cross flow)
- Forklift driving
- Scissor lift operation
- Topping, sampling
- Pre-harvest preparations
- White, rose and red grape processing, including the operation of presses, de-stemmers, and hopper/sorters
- Bottling preparations and bottling day tasks
- Opportunities to better understand and evaluate wines with sensory analysis and trainings
