Cellar Master/Production Assistant

Goleta, CA
Kunin is a boutique, family-owned winery located in Goleta, just minutes away from downtown Santa Barbara. We focus on Rhone varietals from a variety of the top vineyards in Santa Barbara County.
Commensurate with experience.

Cellar Work:
- Manage daily winemaking activities
- Barrel inventory maintenance
- Topping and maintaining topping records
- Maintaining a clean and organized cellar
- Perform all aspects of bottling preparation
- Filtering
- Sample preparation
- Participate in lot tastings, blend sessions, and educational tastings
- Maintain quality control throughout the winemaking process

Lab Work:
- Routine analysis during harvest
- Maintain lab records
- Sample and perform analyses on bulk wine

- Vineyard sampling
- Perform inoculations and additions
- Maintain fermentation records
- Operate forklift and crush equipment
- Perform other harvest activities
- Maintain a safe work environment

-Host tastings at the winery as needed
-Participate in wine club events
-Occasional work in the tasting room

-Bachelor’s degree in Enology, Viticulture or related field preferred
-Minimum 2-4 years cellar experience in a premium winery
-Excellent computer skills (excel, word)
-Good written communication skills
-Ability to multi-task & prioritize
-Detail oriented & organized
-Excels at both working independently and as part of a team
-Positive attitude
-Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills

-Ability to lift 45 lbs.
-Ability to drive a car with a valid CA driver’s license
-Ability to drive a forklift preferred
-Ability to stand for long periods at a time
-Ability to work split shifts as necessary

Because of our small size, our ideal candidate is interested in a large variety of tasks from cellar work to lab work to sales. This is a position with growth potential and salary will be commensurate with experience.
