Paul Lato Wines
Employment Location:
Santa Maria, CA
Company Description:
Paul Lato Wines is a small producer of premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rhone varietals in the Central Coast. We source fruit from multiple vineyards across the Santa Maria Valley and Santa Rita Hills which provide interns with a great opportunity to become familiar with the areas' AVAs.
We are a small team which provides an intimate atmosphere where you can learn one-on-one with our full-time staff. The ultimate goal is to create wines that are seamless and textural with enough structure and balance to complement fine cuisine.
Pay Range:
DOE
Anticipated Start Date:
Mid-August
Anticipated End Date:
Mid-November
Job Description:
Our small team allows the chance to take part in a wide variety of harvest procedures which include: fruit sorting, operating the processing line and other crush equipment, cap management, juice/wine transfers, inoculations, additions, barrel work, cleaning and sanitation. This is an opportunity to learn about ultra premium winemaking. Education is an extremely important component of our workflow, and we strive to provide you with a well rounded, realistic harvest experience. Interns will need to be fit and capable of working long hours in a physically demanding environment such as:
Lifting up to 50lbs
Various temperatures
Bending/kneeling for long periods of time
Working on your feet for more than 8 hours/day
Working with heights/confined spaces
This is a learning experience. As such, applicants should be motivated to learn and have a positive attitude. Prior experience is not needed.
