Bevan Cellars and its winemaking facility, Tench Winery, are looking to round out our harvest 2018 intern team. We are an ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon producer located in the heart of Oakville, Napa Valley, California. Harvest interns will have a very hands-on experience working closely with our small winemaking team and will see the total scope of the winemaking process. Positions begin around the first week of August and last through mid-November depending on winery needs. Interns should expect 30-40 hour weeks preceding harvest, with potential overtime once we begin to receive fruit. It is likely that interns will be required to work 6 days a week during the peak of harvest.
$20 per hour
TBD based on harvest needs
Job Responsibilities may include:

-Vineyard Sampling
-Cleaning and sanitizing bins, tanks, pumps, crush equipment
-Running the fruit processing line, raking grapes, removing waste, foot stomping grapes
-Taking brix and temp, pulling samples, using the FOSS, other basic lab work
-Fermentation monitoring including pumpovers, punchdowns, pulsair
-Inoculating wine lots and making accurate additions
-Draining/digging out/pressing off tanks

The ideal intern would:

-Have 1-2 harvests experience
-Have a positive attitude
-Be able to follow spoken and written directions
-Be a team player
-Have a desire to learn
-Be physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work long hours on their feet
-Commit to the possibility of working any day of the week, with a lot of potential overtime
-Forklift experience a big plus but not required for all jobs
