Are you looking for a unique, in-depth, hands-on winemaking internship? Do you want to work with some of the highest quality grapes in the Napa Valley? Do you want to take your previous experiences to a whole new level by learning every facet of the winemaking process?

Casa Nuestra Winery is one of the Napa Valley’s oldest wineries. Making their first vintage in 1979, Casa Nuestra is a time capsule to Old Napa Valley, where they pride themselves in showcasing the integrity of the grape with their holistic approach to their small lots of grapes. The winery is nestled on 20 acres of vineyards in St. Helena, California, which include Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Zinfandel, and more.

As the intern, you will gain experience in all facets of winemaking, which includes ordering supplies, facilitating bottling days, vineyard sampling, all cellar work, and communicating with industry professionals all while maintaining a high level of efficiency, professionalism, and enthusiasm. The internship will last from July to mid-December.

Responsibilities:
Routine sampling before harvest
Set up, sanitize crush pad
Daily monitoring of wine characteristics (Brix, SO2, TA, etc.)
Cellar work such as work with crusher/destemmer, press operations, pump operations, racking, SO2 and nutrient additions, inoculations, fining, filtering and bottling operations
Getting down and dirty with the not-so-glamorous tasks in winemaking

Math skills
Fluent in English
Can lift 40 pounds
Can stand for long periods of time and can work long hours
Positive attitude!

Experience:
1-2 harvests preferred
Degree in Viticulture and Enology preferred, or pursuing a degree in that or a related field.
