Our California winery operation includes 1000 acres of farmed vineyards and 3 million cases produced annually. Operations include Mendocino County winery, production and vineyard locations. The company employs nearly 300 across the U.S.
Fetzer Vineyards’ corporate office is located at 12901 Old River Rd Hopland, CA 95449. Hopland is a small town of less than 800 people located at the start of the Redwoods of Northern California. It is about a two hour drive, along scenic U.S. Route 101, north of San Francisco.
End of Harvest season, approximately early December 2018
Scope of position:
Duties include, but not limited to receiving and processing grapes and juice (including organic) at harvest time while maintaining wine and juice inventory in a safe, accurate, and orderly manner.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Set-up, adjustment and operation of cellar equipment.
Grape receiving, crushing, and pressing. Perform sanitation in all assigned areas including facility and equipment, sterilizing casks, tanks and other equipment.
Helps ensure wine quality is maintained by cellar team. Maintains equipment, cooperage and tanks in assigned area. Suggests measures to improve employee safety, wine quality, and/or production efficiency.
Comply with all Safety, Housekeeping and Sanitation (HKandS) and Standard Operating Procedures.
Ability to lift, carry and pull up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis; climb on and off equipment constantly throughout the day; extensive walking and standing on cement floors, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling movements required. Working conditions will vary between the chilled tank room and humid red barrel room as well as outside weather conditions.
Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Requires written and verbal communication skills, basic math abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to the job.
Must be quality oriented, have a positive attitude, and be a self-starter.
Must have flexibility with scheduling, willing to work various schedules and work overtime and weekends as needed.
Understanding of basic barrel operations; racking, filling and topping.
Prior experience with Organic processing.
