2019 season-long internship
Tantalus Vineyards
Kelowna, BC, Canada
April 2019
November 2019
Tantalus Vineyards, located at 1670 Dehart Road, Kelowna, BC, Canada, is looking to fill an internship position for the entire 2019 growing season, starting in April and lasting through harvest.

We have been producing internationally-recognized wines off of our 75-acre estate vineyard in British Columbia's Central Okanagan Valley since 2005. Farming BC's oldest, continuously-producing vineyard (the property has been growing grapes since 1927). We have been fortunate to receive high acclaim for our Riesling program out of the gates, and, as production of our Pinot noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wines grows – these too have been quietly garnering international attention in recent years. Our state-of-the-art, LEED-certified winery is the first and only of its kind in BC.

All too often, budding winemakers work harvest after harvest but never experience what it takes to get the fruit through the season and to the crush pad. We believe vineyard experience is crucial to becoming a great winemaker and would like to give you the opportunity to experience an entire growing season, starting in the vineyard and eventually following the grapes into the cellar for harvest. We produce up to 10,000 cases annually of still and sparkling Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot noir.

This is an entry-level position aimed at recent graduates from winemaking and viticulture programs or other new members in the industry. Basic knowledge of viticulture and enology is required as well as previous experience in this or a related field. You must be proficient in written and spoken English and be eligible to work in Canada (we are not able to offer visa assistance). The position will require you to
work between 40-60 hours a week, weekends and holidays included with work being performed outdoors in all conditions and being physically challenging and repetitive at times. The position is paid; remuneration will be dependent on experience.

If you are interested in the position, we would like to hear from you. To apply, please send your resume and a cover letter to vineyard(at) and use “2019 Internship” as the subject line. Please include at least two professional references. Please be advised that applications via any other channel will be ignored and only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
