Miner Family Winery is a family-owned winery on Silverado Trail in Oakville, Napa Valley. We work with over 15 varietals and implement many different winemaking methods, such as whole cluster fermentation, wild fermentations, barrel fermentations, bin fermentation, etc. We are also a custom crush facility for several premium Napa Valley labels, so there is the potential to observe different winemaking techniques and philosophies.

This is a multifaceted position and it involves performing a variety of duties within the lab (90%) and cellar (10%).

Assisting with bottling line set-up and QC
Monthly bulk wine QC (SO2/VA) for topping
Harvest maturity samples
Fermentation monitoring, nutrient and yeast additions
Graphing/charting ferments
Accurate recordkeeping and some data entry
Making reagents and buffers, reagent standardization
Calibrating laboratory equipment
Bench top trials
All inoculations
Assisting in cellar when needed (punchdowns, pumpovers)


Laboratory Analysis Includes:
pH, TA, Alcohol, CO2 and DO, Free and Total SO2 by Autotitrator, RS, VA and ML by enzymatic analysis, NOPA and Ammonia
