Byron is located in Santa Maria Valley and is a part of Jackson Family Wines. We specialize in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah. Our 415 acre estate is home to the Nielson Vineyard which is the first commercial
vineyard in Santa Barbara County planted in 1964. We also work with multiple highly regarded vineyards in Santa Maria Valley and Santa Rita Hills.

We are seeking an enthusiastic intern (or two) who is willing to help with all aspects of pre-harvest and harvest cellar work. This is a unique position which will start in early August to assist with racking, blending, filtering, and bottling 2018 wines, then lead into harvest and finish up at the end of October. Byron consists of a small team, so it is essential that the intern(s) have a good attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently. We would prefer full time commitment, but are open to working with part time schedules as well. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in learning and being involved in all aspects of hands-on winemaking. Job duties include but are not limited to: Racking/washing barrels blending/filtering, fruit processing/sorting cleaning harvest equipment Punchdowns/Pumpovers operating crushers/destemmers/presses/pumps, additions, sanitation etc. Qualifications: Previous cellar experience preferred, ability to follow instructions and take direction, keen attention to detail, strong communication skills. Desire to learn and passion for wine Ability to work inside/outside, hot, cold, and wet conditions. Able to lift
and carry 50lbs Able to stand/kneel/climb ladders/walk for extended periods of time. Willing and able to work overtime and weekends during peak season. Must follow all safety protocols.
