Job Description: Round Pond Estate in Rutherford is looking for cellar interns to join our 2021 harvest team! If working on a small team and being exposed to all facets of harvest sounds exciting, this could be the internship for you. Grape sampling in the vineyard, processing fruit, pump-overs, additions, press operation and forklifting are just a few activities interns would be involved in. Attention to detail, passion for making world class wines, energetic, fun and a positive attitude are all attributes that we are looking for in an intern. Round Pond is seeking candidates with experience and those looking to work their first harvest.

Objective: Work directly with the winemaking team performing all tasks related to harvest, while furthering one’s understanding of wine production. We pride ourselves on having a fun, safe and productive work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maturity sampling
Fermentation monitoring
Grape receiving, sorting and processing
Press operation
Forklift driving
Juice and wine racking and transfers
Daily pump-overs
Cleaning and sanitation of all winery equipment
Operate both positive displacement and air pumps
Wine barrel maintenance, preparation and filling
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Effective communication skills
Good reading, writing and math skills
Good manual dexterity
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work in various temperatures
Required to follow all safety protocol
