Harvest Internship
Eberle Winery
Paso Robles
Eberle Winery is offering a harvest internship for the upcoming 2021 vintage in Paso Robles. Eberle Winery is the creation of Gary Eberle, a revered winemaker and founding member of the Paso Robles AVA. His achievements are many, and he has most recently won the Wine Enthusiast American Wine Legend Award for 2020.
$16-$20 (based on experience)
August 16, 2021
December 17, 2021
The winemaking program is controlled by Chris Eberle, a traveled winemaker, whose journey has taken him to France, Germany, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and California. The winery crushes between 400-500 tons annually. We crush estate Chardonnay, Muscat Cannelli, Viognier, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We source the balance of our fruit from Paso Robles vineyards exclusively. We crush Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Rousanne, Tempranillo, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Petite Sirah, Touriga, Tannat, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Barbera, and Alicante Buschet. We also work with one of, if not the oldest, Syrah Vineyard in California, planted by Gary Eberle himself in the 80’s.
We have five people working in the cellar during harvest, including permanent winemakers and cellar hands. As an intern, you would assist the winemaking team with all facets of production. This internship offers a complete experience of winemaking in Paso Robles. One would not be relegated to one or two tasks for the entirety of harvest. The winery provides lunch everyday, breakfast every so often, and as much beer as you could ever want.
We pay based on experience, but do not require any past harvest experience. This is a great opportunity for someone curious about Paso Robles wine to experience many different varieties and the latest and greatest winemaking techniques. Eberle Winery is one of the most successful competition wineries in America. We pride ourselves on our wines competing at the highest level domestically and internationally. We also boast the first wine caves on the Central Coast.
The internship begins in the middle of August and ends with the conclusion of our December bottling just before Christmas. We provide more information and specifics of the job through inquiry.
