The Winemaking Division at Wente Vineyards is seeking Seasonal Cellar Workers to join our dynamic team. These positions will start in Mid August 2021 (could be sooner if the candidate is available) and run through Mid November 2021. Exact dates of employment are dependent on actual harvest dates. Under close supervision, the Cellar Worker performs a variety of standard wine production duties including sanitation, operation of mechanical equipment and various processes of grape production. These are 40+ hour a week seasonal positions that will require a flexible schedule and regular overtime.
Essential Duties:
• Sanitize winery equipment such as tanks, barrels, pumps, hoses and processing equipment
• Operate heavy mechanical equipment such as forklifts, tractors and truck scales
• Fill, check levels, and empty tanks and barrels and perform basic chemical additions
• Crush pad and press operations
• Inoculations and additions
• Fermentation management
• Barrel shepherding, racking, and filling
• Berry maturation sampling
• Introductory bench chemistry

Successful Candidates Will Possess:
• Ability to accurately execute and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to understand and read English to the extent necessary to perform job functions
• High attention to detail with excellent follow through
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work in a safe, efficient manner
• Be energetic, dependable, highly organized, and have the ability to work in teams
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in an outside environment which includes periods of standing, walking and climbing ladders
• A flexible schedule including evening, weekend and overtime availability, swing shift as needed
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are desired
