Brian and Natalie Brown moved to Paso Robles in 2016. Both winemakers professionally, the two already produced wine under multiple brands. Knowing that they would eventually plant a few acres of grapes on the new farm and produce wines from this fruit, they decided to envelope all of their projects under one roof: The Willow Creek Wine Co. Currently they produce Rococo Wines, Soubrette Wines, In Medias Res, and Emerson Brown Wines.

The Willow Creek Wine Co. is located on SōNA Estate, which is on Vineyard Drive in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles, California. In addition to farming their own fruit, Natalie and Brian have spent years fostering relationships with other growers and producers, and source from premier vineyards as far south as Santa Barbara, and as far north as the Sacramento Delta and Napa Valley.

Producing clean, site driven wines with minimal cellar intervention has always been something the partnership has been committed to. Although they have different winemaking educations, the two see eye to eye on stylistic decisions and technical details. Ultimately, their promise to each other is to never bottle a wine that they wouldn't drink themselves.

This role is a new, critical part of our small, owner-operated business and is filled with opportunity. The primary function of this role is to interact with guests using a professional yet approachable demeanor that is welcoming, unpretentious, and sophisticated, to provide an amazing guest experience, drive wine sales, and convert guests into long term clients. This is a multi-faceted position that requires initiative, an ability to anticipate the needs of our customers, an ability to read the service floor while managing multiple tables at once, as well as excellent communication skills with management, customers, and staff.

This is not a job where you are handed a script and expected to recite it. We actively educate our team on the activities in the vineyard, winery, orchard, and garden, and we expect you to share your personal experiences of the farm with guests. Our hospitality style is based on making our visitors feel as if they are guests coming into our house. It is important to our company’s identity that the individuals representing our brands are well informed and passionate about the wines they pour and the stories they share.

We offer a reservation-style, seated tasting. Providing memorable experiences and outstanding service to all of our guests is our team's primary focus. As our first dedicated wine educator and storyteller, your role will be integral to enhancing the growth of our business while providing a high level of customer service. We operate in a team service fashion and you will be working side by side with one or both of the owners during every shift. If you have experience waiting tables at a fine dining establishment that skill set will serve you well in this roll. Depending on the candidate this could be a part-time or full-time position.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

-Prepare the tasting room and patio by following the opening and closing procedures
-Open and verify condition of wines
-Greet all guests immediately upon arrival
-Assist guests in making reservations over the phone and direct calls within the tasting room
-Authentically promote and sell our portfolio of wines based on guest preferences
-Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our wines, winemaking practices, vineyards and history
-Process sales transactions for carry-out and shipping orders
-Actively input customer preference data into CRM
-Effectively balance multiple seated groups while delivering personalized experiences to each
-Availability to work on and off-site events as directed by the managers
-Act as an ambassador to Paso Robles by referring other wineries and local restaurants to our guests


-Must be at least 21 years of age, ability to lift 50 lbs
-Must have a valid driver's license
-Must be able to speak and communicate clearly
-Must be able to stand for extended periods as required by job duties
-Must be available to work weekends and some holidays


-Very competitive hourly wage plus tips
-Staff tastings, vineyard visits, and educational opportunities on a bimonthly basis
