2018 harvest internship
Matchbook Wine Company
Zamora, CA
Matchbook Wine Company is a family-owned operation in the Dunnigan Hills of Zamora, CA, producing and bottling quality wines on-site under such labels as: Matchbook, The Arsonist, Tinto Rey, Mossback, and Chasing Venus. Thirty minutes from Davis, the winery is located in the midst of 1,300 acres of estate vineyards, comprised of Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Syrah, and several other varietals. We expect to crush about 2700 tons in 2018 (approximately 30% white, 70% red). The majority of our grapes come from our estate vineyards, but we also source fruit from the Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work in the cellar for the duration of the 2018 harvest. You will have the opportunity to assist in all harvest related cellar operations, including:
•Receiving grapes
•Conducting pumpovers and punchdowns
•Assisting with additions to juice and wine
•Sanitize tanks and equipment
•Draining and pressing tanks
•Barrel work – racking, filling
•Transferring must, juice, and wine

You must have the ability and willingness to work 6 days a week, including weekends, and overtime. In addition, you must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 pounds, and be on your feet for most of the day. Reliable transportation is required.
