1st Annual Student Wine Competition
The First annual Winemaker’s Competition consisted of a tasting competition of wines made by the Winemaking I, II and III classes, as well as wines made by students during their senior projects. The event was held at the pilot winery on Friday June 14th. Cal Poly students, faculty and staff were led through a flight of 1 ounce pours of each wine entered in the competition. They went first through the whites and roses, ranking them against each other, then went through the reds and rank them in the same way. Results of the competition were announced at the Senior Banquet.
