Small Vines Wines is a boutique house located in the Sonoma Coast focusing on organically-farmed, high-density planted Pinot noir and Chardonnay. Utilizing a number of estate-farmed sites spread throughout the Sonoma Coast and Russian River valley, we craft low-intervention wines that reflect the vineyards on which the fruit has been grown.

As part of a small team, your hands-on learning opportunities are boundless as you will be able to try a little bit of everything during crush from growing grapes through to bottling and experience all aspects of winemaking during harvest. You will be working on extremely high-quality Pinot noir and Chardonnay and will also work with fruit from other growing areas and winemaking styles through our Custom Crush operation. It is a diverse opportunity that rounds out your comprehensive experience in one place.


The ideal person for this position will be/can:
Extremely detail oriented.
Passionate about wine and winemaking.
Eager to help and willing to work extremely hard and long hours.
Perform under stressful/fast paced conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must have good balance and can climb ladders.
Excited to be part of a team but can also work alone.
Able to spend long hours on your feet in wet conditions.
Appreciates dry farming, whole cluster, and native yeast fermentation.

The duties for harvest include but are not limited to:
Cleaning the facility, sanitizing all crush equipment, tanks, and steaming barrels
Sorting fruit
Cap management including punch downs & pump overs (physically demanding)
Detailed Fermentation tracking & Testing- manage and record chemistry.
Barrel downs & Topping
Working on the bottling line
Possible vineyard opportunities
Prior harvest experience is not a requirement! The ideal candidate will be one that is detail-oriented, hardworking, and passionate about premium grape growing and winemaking. We enjoy working with people who are open minded and willing to ask questions or share thoughts and ideas.
