ASV Wines is an organically and sustainability certified, family-owned winery. We process grapes from Monterey County, San Luis Obispo County, and other Coastal and Valley Growers. We process and sell wines along with bottling of our own nationally distributed brands. We are a large-scale winery with fermentation lots ranging from 1,000 gallons to 20,000 gallons.
Pay Range:
$19.00 per hour

Job Description:
The Harvest Enologist will collaborate with the lab staff, Assistant Winemaker, and cellar staff on key initiatives during harvest. The enologist position will assist on crucial areas of winemaking, cellar work and lab analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with laboratory supervisor to analyze processing juices and wines in a timely manner.
- Taste fermenting wines daily to determine any nutrient deficiencies or off aromas.
- Update daily fermentation record and track progress of all fermentations with the assistance of the winemaking team.
- Sample and analyze grape samples from the vineyard.
- Set up trials in the lab and record sensory effects.
- Assist lab team on bottled good analysis and quality control.
- Rack wine and juice into barrels.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and the ability to work independently.
- Motivated individual who can work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail.
- High level of proficiency with Excel and data analysis.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory skills.
