Title:
Harvest Intern
Type:
Seasonal F/T
Employer:
Cordant Winery
Employment Location:
Paso Robles
Company Description:
Cordant Winery is a premium, boutique winery in Paso Robles that produces about 3000+ cases of Pinot Noir and Rhone-style wines each year. We started our winey in 2014, and our sales are primarily direct-to-consumer with a small amount of wine that we make available for certain restaurants and other smaller venues. We pay extreme attention to detail during production in order to produce high quality wines, which is our sole focus.
We purchase all of our fruit from 15-20 (varies a little bit each year) of the best vineyards in Monterey County, San Luis Obispo County, and Santa Barbara County. We make about 15 different wines each year, so on average our production size is small, averaging around 200 cases for each of our bottlings. We produce both vineyard designate wines and blends, depending on what we are trying to accomplish.
We are looking for 2 paid harvest interns for the 2022 harvest, with work beginning in August and continuing until November. Work hours can accommodate school work, but this is our busy time so we need dedicated individuals especially in September and October.
Pay Range:
$15 - $17 / hour
Anticipated Start Date:
Mid-to-late August
Anticipated End Date:
Early-to-mid November
Job Description:
Work will focus primarily on winery production, including harvest prep, fruit processing as grapes arrive from vineyards, fermentation management, and barreling. Cleanliness and attention to detail is important in every step of the process. The proper candidate is somebody who enjoys rewarding work, wants to learn, has good attention to detail (did we say that yet?) and wants to get their hands dirty (literally!).
Other Information:
Please email expressions of interest to David Taylor (David@CordantWinery.com) and Jesse Baker (Jesse@CordantWinery.com). A resume is helpful if you have one, but if not, please tell us about yourself and why you would be a perfect candidate for our 2022 harvest program. We look forward to hearing from you!
