The Winery by Brasswood is a state of the art, newly constructed winery in Calistoga. Mostly Bordeaux varietals are produced with a focus on high quality Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pay Range:
$19-21 hourly

Job Description:
The Winery by Brasswood is looking for Harvest Interns to join us for the 2022 season. We are looking for hardworking passionate people that thrive in a bustling, team driven environment. All levels of experience will be considered. This is the newest winery on the block with state of the art equipment. There is an opportunity for full-time work following Harvest and a review.
Overall Responsibilities and Opportunities:
-Assist in sorting and processing fruit to tank, tank sanitation, and cleaning of equipment and winery
-Manage fermentations via pumpovers, punchdowns, Brix and temp, additions and inoculations
-Perform basic sampling of tanks, fruit, and barrels for lab analysis
-Work with barrels: cleaning and sanitation, painting, filling, racking, stirring and topping
-Work with seasoned staff on Red and White press operations
-Able to be on your feet for long periods
-Able to work up to 6 days a week
-Able to read, write and perform basic arithmetic
-Able to lift 50 pounds
Some key aspects about working at The Winery by Brasswood:
-Working with world-class winemakers and consulting winemakers
-Working with ultra-premium fruit from AVA's around Napa and Sonoma
-Learning all aspects of the winemaking during harvest
-Opportunity to use all equipment from crush to press
-A longer employment period starting mid-August running through December
-Observe some aspects of vineyard work and vineyard sampling
Other Information:
This position is a great opportunity to begin or expand knowledge of small production winemaking. Each intern will have the opportunity to work a wide variety of tasks from fruit processing, cap management, pressing, and everything in between. There will be BBQ's throughout harvest, free wine tasting opportunities, and there is a 50% employee discount at the Brasswood Bakery at the St. Helena property.
