Job Description:
Baker Wine & Grape Analysis is seeking to employ a lab chemist. This is a rare opportunity to
join our analytical laboratory in one of the most desirable locations in California.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform chemical and microbial analysis on wine, juice, beer, spirits, olive oil and other
liquids
• Utilize automated analyzers, titration, enzymatic chemistry and other specialized
equipment for analysis
• Assist clients during sample drop-off or via phone/email
• Prepare chemical reagents and contribute to general housekeeping of lab
• Maintain and troubleshoot diverse and complex laboratory instruments
• Accurately transcribe lab results to appropriate templates or databases
• Develop and apply new methods to expand the in-house analysis capabilities
• Adhere to all SOP's
Job Requirements
• Minimum two years laboratory experience
• Minimum one year experience in fermentation science
• Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry, Enology, or Food Sciences; or B.S. in any Physical,
Chemical or Biological Science with at least 30 credits of chemistry
• Able to lift and move cases of wine
• Experience with chemicals and related safety procedures
• Willing to apply for TTB chemist certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
• Strong mathematical, organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail while guaranteeing timeliness, accuracy and completion of all lab
work
• Ability to effectively present information to clients
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
Job Details
• Hourly compensation dependent upon experience
• Six hour shifts between the hours of 8am - 6pm Monday thru Friday
• One Saturday per month required, 10am - 4pm September thru November
