The Task At-Hand:
The Quality Lab Technician reports to the Director of Quality and Innovation and assists in ensuring all product meets JuneShine quality standards.

Who You Are:
You enjoy working on a collaborative team and thrive in a fast-paced environment in which you work closely with brewing and packaging teams, and play a key role in day-to-day problem-solving. You are an excellent communicator with impeccable attention to detail, a passion for math/science, and an unwavering desire to ensure product quality.

In This Role You Will:
• Perform daily tank checks including but not limited to: temperature, ABV, pH, gravity, titratable acidity, sensory
• Perform daily packaging quality checks including but not limited to: seam integrity, dissolved oxygen, carbonation, sensory
• Perform weekly microbiology analysis including media preparation, spread plating, pour plating, and filter plating
• Assist in ongoing shelf life evaluations
• Log relevant data into spreadsheets and quality databases
• Proactively assist in identifying and troubleshooting fermentation issues
• Assist in coordinating sensory trials
• Work closely with brewing and packaging teams to ensure quality standards are met

Must Haves:
• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
• Must be willing to work an alternative workweek schedule: including potential 3-day workweek/12 hr shifts or 4-day workweek/10 hr shifts, between the production hours of 5:30 AM - 2:00 AM; must be willing to work weekends when needed
• Basic knowledge of fermentation chemistry and microbiology
• Minimum one-year experience working in a laboratory environment
• Proficiency in college-level algebra
• Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Stays up-to-date on improved processes and platforms to maintain self-sufficiency
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

Nice to Have:
• B.S. in areas of Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology
• Knowledge/experience with fermentation science
• Previous experience in beer, cider, kombucha brewing
• Prior experience with sensory analysis

Compensation: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
