Job Description:
Titus Vineyards is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our winemaking team. Job Responsibilities:
Cellar Duties:
- Work directly with the Winemaker to execute all aspects of vinification and production from grape to bottle
- Help implement cellar standards and protocols
- Responsible for training, supervising and leading cellar interns and temporary workers, providing ongoing instruction and support as necessary
- Supervise grape receival and operation of the crush pad/cellar
- Carry out general cellar operations with the assistance of the cellar team. Including: topping, stirring, racking and filling barrels, filtration, bottling prep and basic winery sanitation
- Forklift Operation
- Other duties as needed
Lab Duties:
- Run basic wine chemistry (FSO2, VA, pH, TA, Brix and bottling analysis)
- Monitor Malolactic Fermentation using Paper Chromatography
- Set up bench trials as needed
- Prepare blending trial for tastings
- Participate in winemaking tasting panel
Other Information:
Qualifications:
- Three years of winery experience necessary
- B.S. in Enology or Viticulture or related field is preferred
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs.
- Forklift experience desired
- Reliable transportation and clean DMV
