Merlot/Cab Dominant Harvest Internship
Blackbird Vineyards specializes in premium Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blends. We make about 2,500 cases per year and the facility and employees are highly dedicated to making the best wine ever. We work under famed and critically acclaimed winemaker Aaron Pott. We have tons of fun and incorporate a small team of highly specialized young people and industry veterans.
Blackbird Vineyards is looking for cellar interns to join the 2023 harvest. If you are not afraid of getting dirty and are willing to work long hours, we’re willing to teach you how to craft amazing wines. We’re looking for driven individuals to be an integral part of the entire harvest process in the Blackbird Vineyards team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lab analysis(no science background necessary, we will train if needed)
The position is seasonal and will start in August and can last through December. The exact start and end dates depend on harvest. Hours can vary with the primary responsibilities of the position. Work will include weekends and overtime as needed. Workers must be able to
work varied schedules as needed.
US citizen with a valid US driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to and from the work site or approved VISA status and transport. High School or equivalent education. Previous harvest/winery experience is preferred but not required. Must be available to work from August through December. Available to work a varied schedule during harvest season as needed. Accuracy with numbers and strong recordkeeping skills. Basic computer proficiency. Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed. Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, bend, and lift. Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
