Company Description:
MCV Wines is seeking a Wine Demi-God in the making for a harvest internship that tentatively runs from late August through mid-November. This position will cover some of everything working at a smaller winery entails. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with the owner and winemaker, the production staff and the sales team. You’ll work making MCV’s wines as well as wine for up to 15 different wineries, learning all the different styles of each unique brand. MCV has been producing High scoring, quality driven Petite Sirah and Unique Blends for 12 years, sourcing from vineyards all over the Paso Robles AVA.
Pay Range:
$16-$20/hr

Job Description:
Become intimately acquainted with the processing and sorting equipment while cleaning it and running it.
Daily mixing of the fermentations and checking Brix and Temperature.
Learn the ins and outs of a basket press.
Make additions to the wine, especially regarding inoculations (yeast will become your friend).
Lots and lots of cleaning.
Forklift Training and Certification.
You could be called upon to work events, haul cases, and organize case goods storage.
There might even be a bit of vineyard work thrown in to change it up.
Mostly you’re going to be both hot and cold (possibly at the same time), wet, sticky, dry and exhausted.
Other Information:
Staff lunch every Friday and grazing items through harvest, plus periodic other meals, and snacks
Staff tastings of wine flights for education.
Team building emphasis, i.e. Best Dad Joke Friday, Best Socks Thursday, etc.
Harvest and MCV swag and wine allocation
Potential to stay on for part time cellar work.
