Dedicated to sustainable farming and legacy within the community, the Steinbeck Wine brand honors the excellence of growing in the vineyard and their family’s 140 year history in the area. Steinbeck Vineyards are located in the Sub AVA “Geneseo District”, named after their family’s settlement in 1884 from Geneseo, Illinois. Their 420-acre estate vineyard supplies several wineries with fruit, and a small percentage is used to craft their own wines. Family owned and managed, their winemaker, Bryan Widstrand, was trained as winemaker in California under Jim Shumate and Steve Glossner, and in Tasmania, Australia.
Hand-picked, hand sorted, and hand crafted with minimal handling, their winemaking style is a combination of old-world focus and new experiences, seeking balance, elegance, and approachability without manipulation or pretension.

Job Description:
Seeking a motivated student who is able to balance their class load with a flexible but an occasionally busy part-time harvest position. Days when fruit is harvested and processed will be the most important regarding availability, but opportunities for additional hours will be available regarding fermentation management, wine transfers, laboratory work, etc..
Primary Jobs:
Set Up for crush, sorting fruit, cleaning crush equipment, tanks, hoses, fittings, presses, and everything…. fermentation additions and management, pump overs, and punch downs.
Secondary Jobs:
Laboratory Analysis (pH, TA, Brix), fruit sampling, sparkling wine finishing (disgorging and dosage), barrel topping and additions, other cellar work as needed.
Other Information:
The work atmosphere is relaxed, and the position is designed to encourage students of wine to practice what they will be learning during their degree without forcing them to take time off from their studies.
