Company Description:
Opolo Wines is seeking a harvest laboratory associate to join our team for the 2024 harvest season. As a harvest lab intern, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of winemaking while learning from a highly motivated and dynamic production team.
Pay Range:
$17 and up (DOE)

Job Description:
Job responsibilities:
● Analysis of alcohol, pH, TA, VA, ML, RS, SO2, and phenolics
● Implement and monitor fermentation procedures.
● Prepare and inoculate yeast, malolactic cultures, and additions.
● Set up, calibrate, and run laboratory equipment.
o Working with automated analyzers and traditional
wet chemistry methods
● Prepare reagents, standards, and solutions.
● Collect samples from tanks, barrels, and bins.
● Monitor Daily Brix analysis and ML fermentation.
● Perform lab trials/lab blends.
● Work with Excel and data entry.

Qualifications:
Laboratory experience and applicable course work are desired but not essential.
We are seeking a highly motivated team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and perform precise work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be punctual and be prepared to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, day shifts, night shifts, and holidays. Students must take off the fall quarter to be eligible for this position. You must have a reliable means of transportation and a clean driving record.
Physical requirements:
All candidates will need to be fit and capable of working long hours, lifting weights up to 50 lbs, and enduring extended periods walking, standing, and climbing ladders. All safety protocols must be adhered to while employed by Opolo Wines.
