Phase 2 Cellars is the Central Coast’s leading custom crush facility of premium and ultra-premium wines. Home to numerous clients, both small and large, we offer an unparalleled opportunity to experience a myriad of winemaking styles and practices. Interns will work closely with high quality Edna Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, an extensive Rose program as well as acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Albarino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petite Sirah and many other varietals from Monterey, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara County.

We are seeking a hard-working, organized individual for our lab position to collect samples and perform routine analyses of grapes, juice, and wine. Training will be provided as needed.

Job duties include:
Perform all job duties safely and in accordance with company health and safety protocols.
Routine analysis of grapes, juice and wine by wet chemistry and autoanalyzers according to SOP
Daily set up of laboratory equipment including calibrations and verification checks
Prepare required reagents and maintain lab chemical inventory
Collect samples from various vessels including but not limited to: tanks, barrels, bins and trucks
Process and test vineyard and/or truck grape samples to track maturity
Monitor quality control during bottling as needed
Accurate data entry into written and digital record keeping systems
Maintain a clean, orderly workplace
The ideal candidate should possess:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Walk, kneel, bend, and stand continuously for 8 or more hours a day
Climb stairs and ladders Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Work in both cool cellar temperatures and warm outdoor temperatures/conditions
Work overtime, including weekends
