We are seeking a creative, humorous, and hardworking intern for our 2024 harvest team. We have estate vineyards in Rutherford, Howell Mountain, and Lake County specializing in red and white Bordeaux varieties, as well as Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, Barbera, and Zinfandel. We are a small team, so you will be exposed to all aspects of harvest and get a very well-rounded experience. This is an incredible opportunity to work with some of the best vineyards in the Napa Valley. You will also get the chance to work directly with Aaron Pott, one of the leading winemakers in the industry and one of the funniest people you will ever meet. Harvest is a fun and exciting time of year, but the days can be long and tiring, so you will have to be up to the challenge. The work is very physical, but incredibly rewarding. It’s hands on, requires the use of all five senses, and is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the art of winemaking.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and sanitation
• Grape receiving, sorting, processing
• Inoculations and additions
• Cap Management - punch downs, pump-overs
• Fermentation Monitoring
• Barrel work
• Digging tanks
• Operation of harvest equipment
• Wine/must movements
• Vineyard sampling

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior harvest experience is great, but not required
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Enthusiasm for wine
• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
• Desire to comply with any and all safety requirements
• Organized and detail-oriented, with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Fluent in English or as a second language
• Reliable transportation and housing

Harvest is generally from mid-August to the end of October, but each year is dictated by Mother Nature. Expect to work 6 days per week and 10 hours per day during the peak of harvest. Despite long days and weekend work, we strive to make harvest an enjoyable and educational opportunity.
