Navarro Vineyards has been sustainably growing grapes, making wine and producing non-alcoholic grape juices in the Anderson Valley in coastal Mendocino since 1974. Navarro grows estate Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc.

This position works closely with the winemaker and owners providing information on incoming grapes, juices and wine. We expect to process ~800 tons this year.

Depending on work load the person may also work in the cellar. Lab duties include grape sampling, analysis of grape juice (acidity, pH, sugar, YAN, tannin), monitoring of fermentation sugars, tank temperature, alcohol and malic acid.

Cellar duties may include the operation of crushing equipment, wine presses, racking of wine and juices, operating a lees filter, preparing and filling barrels and wooden tanks, yeast and ML inoculations, additions of tartaric acid and yeast nutrients. punch downs of red wine fermentations, sanitation of cellar equipment, forklift driving and bottling line work.
