Hudson Ranch is seeking a Cellar Intern to join our winemaking team for the 2024 vintage

Situated deep in the heart of the rolling hills of Napa Valley’s Carneros District, Hudson Ranch has been growing grapes for exceptional winemakers for 35 years. Today, Hudson crafts wines from select parcels on our 2,000-acre estate, including award winning Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.

The best candidate for this position is an enthusiastic worker with a positive attitude who seeks to gain experience in a dynamic winery producing some of the best wines that the Napa Valley has to offer. You will perform a wide range of harvest operations as part of a small, close-knit team and be exposed to a variety of winemaking styles working not only with the Hudson wines, but also with our custom crush clients. Every day will present new challenges and opportunities to learn. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below:

Duties Include
• Daily fermentation monitoring
• Execution of pump-overs and punch-downs
• Hand-sorting of fruit
• Sanitizing and setting up tanks, sorting equipment, and presses for receiving fruit
• Assisting with vineyard sampling and logging of data

Minimum Requirements
• During harvest, a 6-day work week is expected in addition to extended hours, varying shifts, nights, and weekends
• Job is physically demanding with frequent walking, standing for long periods of time, conducting repetitive tasks and requires the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Some proficiency Spanish preferred
• Employee will be exposed to chemicals typical to the winemaking process such as sulfur dioxide, peracetic acid and caustic cleaners
• Must be adept in Microsoft Excel and Word
• This is a temporary position starting in August and continuing through November
