The goal of J. Lohr brands is to produce varietals that can compete with the finest in the world, using a style that focuses on flavor and complexity through vineyard selection, technology, and innovation.

This Internship with J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines will expose the employee to approximately 4,000 acres of vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA, consisting primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, and Syrah. The internship may also involve some time in Greenfield which will give some experience in the Monterey AVA, where we grow primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
$21/hour
June 23rd, part time work may be available as early as May 1st
Oct 17th, can provide flexibility for Fall classes
Major job responsibility will be to obtain plant water status using a pressure chamber.
Other job duties will include assisting the viticulture staff with data collection of phenological stages, crop size, vine fertility, pest monitoring, maturity sampling and other vineyard related tasks.
Qualifications:
Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
Good attention to detail.
Good computer skills. Knowledge of Excel.
Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
Ability to work long hours outdoors and in marked temperature and humidity conditions.
Physically able to stand, walk, bend, reach above and below shoulder level and grasp with both hands, carry 50 pounds.
Visual capabilities: close and distance, color, depth perception, adjustment of focus.

Enthusiasm to be involved in the wine industry along with a high level of personal integrity.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the Winery’s insurance carrier.
