The Lead Technician will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the Napa office including assisting with the instruction of seasonal technicians, equipment maintenance, shipping, and the installation and maintenance of sap flow systems in various vineyard locations around Napa and Sonoma. The position requires strong organizational and technical skills as well as the ability to work independently on a remote team. The Lead Technician will report to the Data Collection Manager and together work to ensure the successful coordination of the technician team and warehouse.

Responsibilities

Technician Mentorship

- Mentor and guide technician team in resolution of technical issues
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Train and develop technicians to improve technical skills and knowledge
- Identify training needs and implement training programs

Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock and initiate orders as needed
- Shipping and receiving of equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring all equipment is labeled and well stored
- Perform basic office management and company vehicle maintenance duties

Technical skills
- Diagnose and solve complex issues with the sap flow systems
- Service and update equipment firmware and hardware to maintain optimal performance

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Prior experience as a technician or similar field is preferred
- Knowledge of electrical/mechanical tools and components
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Physical fitness- able to lift 50lbs and walk with heavy equipment in the vineyard
- Must be in-person at the Napa office
- Must provide your own transportation
