Phase 2 Cellars is the Central Coast’s leading custom crush facility of premium and ultra-premium wines. Home to numerous clients, both small and large, we offer an unparalleled opportunity to experience a myriad of winemaking styles and practices. Seasonal team members will work closely with high quality Edna Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, an extensive Rosé program as well as acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Albarino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petite Sirah and many other varietals from Monterey, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara County.

We are seeking a hard-working, organized individual for our winemaking intern position to assist during harvest All training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:
Perform all job duties safely and in accordance with company health and safety protocols
Daily harvest fermentation monitoring/temperature management/cap checks.
Prepare work orders and assist with wine lot management (topping, SO2).
Sampling for tasting and lab blends, including but not limited to tanks, barrels bins and trucks.
Enter and maintain data in digital record keeping systems.
Process and test truck grape samples/scan and confirm weigh tags.
Monitor quality control during bottling as needed.
Help receive, enter, and maintain digital records of ingredient, oak, and packaging inventories.
Participate in sanitation verification activities.
Accurate data entry into written and digital record keeping systems.
Consistent punctuality and adherence to standard work schedule.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Walk, kneel, bend, and stand continuously for 8 or more hours a day.
Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks.
Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, in all climates when appropriate.
Work overtime, including weekends.

The ideal candidate should possess:
High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Strong work ethic.
Coursework in winemaking or prior harvest experience.
Desire to work in a production setting.
The ability to work in team and individual settings.
