Job Description:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
This role will be reporting to the Senior Viticulturist. The Vineyard Intern will provide support to the vineyard management team.
• Pest and disease scouting
• Collect petiole and leaf blade samples
• Collect and record phenology data in AgCode
• Take Leaf Water Potentials
• Assist with sugar samples and other harvest activities
• Assist with crop estimates
• Assist with beneficial insect releases
• Preform irrigation distribution uniformity tests

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
• Stand for long periods
• Lift and/or move 50 or more pounds
• Work Full-time, weekdays with occasional weekends during harvest season.
• Will require to work outside in all weather conditions and walk on uneven terrain.
Qualifications:
• Candidates are required to be at least 21 years old
• Must have a valid CA driver’s license with a clean DMV record
• Must be able to operate an ATV on rough terrain for extended periods of time
• Data management skills and organization, All Microsoft Programs and AGCODE is a plus
• Takes initiative and is a reliable, adaptable team player for a fast-paced environment
• Must have initiative, enthusiasm, and self-motivation
• Must be able to take direction and work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to communicate clearly with fellow employees
• Contribute to a positive work culture, prioritize positive attitudes, open communication, teamwork, and respect for colleagues. Focus on collaboration, offering help when needed, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
Pay Range:
Non-Exempt $20-$24 hourly
Schedule:
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
Experience & Education
• Degree or in process of obtaining a degree in Viticulture or related field (plant science, agronomy, soil science etc.) is important.
Language:
• English
• Some Spanish is always helpful in the industry
