Company Description:
Bundschu Family Wine Company, located in Sonoma, CA is still looking for 2-3 cellar interns and one lab intern to assist with this harvest. The family owns and operates Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage wineries in the Sonoma Valley. Family-owned and -managed since 1858, we have built a robust and storied wine industry legacy by continually looking forward and pushing boundaries on all sides. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with different winemaking techniques and many wine grape varieties. We are looking for candidates who are hardworking, and motivated.

Job Description:
Cellar Intern:
SUMMARY: 100% Support the Cellar team as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing a variety of cellar operations including but not limited to:
• Grape receiving and processing activities
• Additions to wines/musts
• Cap management practices, such as pump-overs
• Fermentation monitoring
• Barrel activities (cleaning, filling/topping)
• Equipment, tank and winery sanitation
• Forklift driving
• Other tasks deemed necessary will vary depending on daily needs
Lab Intern
60% Support the Enologist in all laboratory practices, 40% Support the Cellar
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing a variety of lab/cellar operations including but not limited to:
• Perform typical harvest lab analysis (pH, TA, Ammonia, NOPA, Brix, Temp)
• Communicate with custom crush winemakers via email
• Additions to wines/musts
• Cap management practices, such as pump-overs
• Fermentation monitoring
• Barrel activities (cleaning, filling/topping)
• Forklift driving
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• A positive attitude
• Reliability
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Ability to understand and comply with any and all safety requirements
• Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
• Effective communication skills
• Good reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in various temperatures
• Fluent in English or as a second language required
• Valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record preferred but not required
Other Information:
We are looking to hire 1 lab intern and 2-3 cellar interns.
