2025 Harvest Intern (Housing Provided)
Seasonal F/T
Rhys Vineyards
Santa Cruz Mountains
At Rhys Vineyards we aspire to make great Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah from some of California’s most unique and expressive vineyards. This pursuit has led us to search the state for exciting rocky soils that exist within the mountainous, cool, Coastal climate zone. Over the last 15 years we have developed seven estate vineyards, six in the Santa Cruz Mountains and one in Anderson Valley, each of which is capable of producing uniquely compelling, distinctive, soil driven wine.

Rhys Vineyards is currently seeking interns to join our small team this harvest from August through November. We work exclusively with our estate vineyards planted in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is an exciting opportunity to work with small-lot fermentations of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Syrah. We also produce traditional method sparkling wine from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in-house from pressing to disgorgement. You'll be involved in all aspects of winemaking, including fruit receival and sorting, lab work, fermentation management, punch downs, pump overs, pressing, topping, and racking.

Ideal applicants will have a strong curiosity for the world of wine, previous harvest experience, a strong work ethic and will be eager to learn. Forklift experience is preferred while attention to detail, cleanliness, and meticulous sanitation practices are a must. Our harvest days can be long and the winery is frequently cold and damp so the ability to maintain an upbeat attitude is incredibly important.

We will provide housing, lunch and dinner during peak harvest, and plenty of wine. We expect you to arrive with your own transportation, or be able to secure a reliable form of transportation shortly after starting.

Candidates must also be eligible to work in the US and have excellent understanding/communication in English. They must also be able to perform strenuous physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive movements, bending down, and ascend/descend ladders.
This is a harvest position, but strong candidates may also have the opportunity to stay through racking and bottling in Spring 2026.
