Job Description:
Position Summary
Tablas Creek Vineyard is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Barbacks to join our hospitality team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to get their start in the wine industry. As a Barback, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our tasting room staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist Tasting Room Associates with setup and breakdown of the tasting bar and guest areas.
● Restock wine, glassware, and other supplies as needed throughout the day.
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, back-of-house, and storage areas.
● Wash and polish glassware, ensuring a constant supply of clean items.
● Help with receiving and organizing deliveries.
● Accurately pack wine orders for guests and review contents with them.
● Learn and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions.
● Observe and learn the operational flow of the tasting room.
● Adapt quickly to the evolving needs of the tasting room, prioritizing tasks on the fly.
● Support the team with general tasks to ensure a positive guest experience.
● Learn about Tablas Creek wines and the wine industry.
Qualifications
● Must be at least 18 years of age.
● Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
● A keen interest in wine and the wine industry is a plus.
Availability Requirements
● Must be available to work most weekends (Saturdays and Sundays are essential).
● Availability on most holiday weekends is required.
