Job Description:
Responsibilities:
● Prepare the tasting room for opening and closing
● Welcome guests to the BRV Tasting Room and make them feel at home during their experience
● Provide excellent customer service
● Educate guests about our wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history
● Provide large group tasting experience
● Encourage guests to purchase wine
● Promote benefits of BRV Wine Club and actively sign up new members
● Build and maintain lasting relationships with guests and club members
● Perform sales transactions and customer entry using OrderPort POS system
● Maintain the appearance of the tasting room and outside patio areas which includes stocking
merchandise, wine, washing and drying glasses, and misc. Cleaning
● Communicate performance of team members to TR Mgr
● Inventory control of tasting room supplies
● Assist with set-up and participate in events (onsite and offsite) as needed
● Other duties as assigned by manager/follow all company policies and procedures
● Maintain satisfactory attendance, including punctuality
● Attend staff meetings, held in the evening and/or on weekends
Qualifications / Skills:
● A passion for people and providing exceptional hospitality
● Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
● Ability to multitask with multiple tables and balance of assisting team members
● Positive attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
● Must enjoy working with and adding to a positive team environment
● Enthusiasm about wine and the desire to learn about it
Requirements:
● At least 1 year of tasting room experience or comparable hospitality experience
● A strong understanding of Central Coast wine country, including the local vineyards, unique AVAs
and terroirs of the region, and the differences between them
Other Information:
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
