Company Description:
Edna SLO Winery (formerly known as Edna Valley Vineyard) is in the heart of the Edna Valley and is a newly restored winery which produces wines from high quality organically grown grapes in small batches as well as large truckloads of local SIP certified grapes.
The winery was purchased from E & J Gallo in December of 2024 by six partners who are local and have a connection to wine either through vineyard ownership or restaurant ownership.
On the production team are Stephen Dooley of Stephen Ross as General Manager, Tyler Eck of Dunites as Winemaker, and Roe Klein as Enologist.
Pay Range:
$19 - $21 per hour
Anticipated Start Date:
Mid-August, 2026
Anticipated End Date:
Mid-November, 2026
Job Description:
The internship will offer firsthand experience in a broad range of cellar processes. We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking individuals who are willing to learn and add to our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Pump-overs, punch-downs, inoculations, additions
• Operating presses, wine transfers, barreling down
• Assisting in crushing
• Vineyard sampling
• Lab analysis
• Barrel steaming, pressure washing, winery sanitation
• Assisting the cellar shift leads in all aspects of the winemaking process
Requirements and Qualifications:
• A hard working and meticulous personality
• A strong enthusiasm about winemaking
• An understanding of winemaking and viticulture
• Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Willingness to work overtime on a regular basis
• Ability to work early morning and/or late evening shifts
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Forklift experience a plus, but not required
