Company Description:
The Cider Farm is an organic orchard in the beautiful Driftless region of Wisconsin where we grow English and French tannic apples for our brand of apple brandy and ciders. We are currently the largest organic producer of such apples in America. We have a cidery and tasting room in nearby Madison, Wisconsin, where, in addition to the licensed cidery, we also have a rectifier permit to package our apple brandy. The tasting room features a local and organic farm-to-table menu. The Cider Farm plans to expand its cidery and tasting room concept to other locations.
Pay Range:
40,000 to 50,000

Job Description:
Position Summary
The Cider Maker is responsible for all aspects of cider-making for Cider Farm Brands, as well as for the packaging and tax reporting for apple brandy products. The Cider Maker will eventually supervise assistant cidermakers as we expand.
Other Information:
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years as a commercial cider or wine-maker in a commercial cidery or winery.
• Experience with typical wine-making and packaging equipment, including bottle lines, keg washers and fillers.
• Demonstrated abilities and accomplishments in key responsibility areas (below).
• Academic studies in the applicable fields of wine-making, food science, chemistry or engineering preferred. Peter Mitchell Cider Academy certificate considered a plus.
• Good computer skills with reasonable proficiency in Word, Excel & Power Point.
• Strong attention to details, particularly sanitation, is required.
• Be able to lift at least 50lbs. from ground level and be physically capable to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders and to kneel, stoop, and crouch.
