Job Description:
Knights Bridge Winery is seeking seasonal interns for the 2022 harvest. The position will start Early-August and last until through October-November, and could potentially be extended in length from there.
The interns selected will be working side by side with our Winemaker and will participate in all aspects of winemaking, from grape to bottle. The ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, a great work ethic, and an attention detail. The candidate should be able to work long daily shifts and be prepared to work up to 6 days a week.
Viticulture duties:
-Attend Vineyard/Winemaking meetings
-Monitor Grape Maturity through sampling
-Flagging Vines
-Tending to the estate garden and surrounding property
Cellar/Enology duties:
-Processing grape maturity samples for analysis
-Perform lab analysis including but not limited to - Brix, pH/TA, Y15 Analysis, -Fining/Addition Trials
-Collect tank and barrel samples throughout processing
-Cellar work may include: sanitation; bottling line work; additions to must/juice; barrel stirring; forklifting; topping; racking/blending
-Forklift Certified preferred but not required
Requirements and Qualifications:
-Previous experience and enology education preferred
-Lab and Cellar experience is a plus
-Reliable Transportation and Housing
-Passionate about wine and be a strong team player
-Able to stand for long periods of time
-Able to lift 50 lbs. and work extended hours in a physically demanding environment
-Ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to strict safety procedures.
